Amiblu Spain receives the triple Energy Stamp “Calculate, Reduce, Compensate”
In the firm commitment to reduce environmental impacts, Amiblu Spain has obtained the triple energy stamp “Calculate, Reduce, Compensate”, awarded by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
Obtaining this energy certification is part of the strategic ecological transition plan “Amiblu Green 2022-2024”. In the last three years, large investments were made at the Camarles plant to reduce CO2 emissions by 45%, from 1,700 tonnes of CO2 in 2020, to 900 in 2022.
These are the measures that were implemented:
- The entire electricity consumed at the Amiblu Camarles plant now comes from 100% renewable energy sources. For this, Amiblu Spain has obtained the highest certification for green energy from clean sources, “100% Sustainable Energy”, awarded by the National Commission on Markets and Competition.
- 350,000 euros were invested in the installation of more than a thousand photovoltaic panels in the plant to generate 27% of the plant’s energy (665,000 kilowatt hours of electric energy a year).
- Circularity was implemented in the plant’s production system by using recycled resins, sourced from European suppliers, in the manufacturing process.
- An agreement with a local cement company was signed to reuse the surplus waste of Amiblu’s production process for the construction of roads.
Amiblu Spain has also added an ECOTax to all commercial offers, which is used to plant trees in forests approved by the Ministry of Ecological Transition at the end of each year.
Congratulations on these fantastic achievements and the valued certification to the entire team!
