Reliable Wastewater Discharge with HOBAS Jacking Pipes
HOBAS GRP Jacking Pipes were the first choice for interceptor sewer D, which runs along the river Svitava in the Czech city Brno. The pipes’ excellent hydraulic characteristics and the economic and ecologic advantages of trenchless installation, especially as regards the whole product life cycle, convinced the customer. The HOBAS Centrifugal Casting Process makes sure that all pipe characteristics, e.g. stiffness, are perfectly adapted to the planned jacking drives and the related necessary thrust forces. The pipes were jacked at a depth of 7 m and the longest drive with 212 m was realized with a single intermediate jacking station. In order to keep the thrust force as low as possible, the pipes were equipped with injection nozzles and lubricated with bentonite during installation. The 3 m long HOBAS GRP Jacking Pipes De 1280, SN 64000, PN 1 were jacked with an ISEKI jacking machine over a length of 1265 m without problems. The construction works were completed in March 2013 to the customer’s utmost satisfaction. More than 3400 inhabitants are now served by the new sewer system and pleased with the reliable discharge of their wastewater.
