NO DIG Award for Cergy Pontoise Trenchless Multitechnique Project
The owner of this project, “Communité d’Agglomération de Cergy-Pontoise”, is the association of eleven villages and towns about 30 kilometers northwest from Paris. This is a new urban area that has been growing rapidly during the last 30 years. The owner runs the main sewage and drainage network as well as a treatment plant for 200,000 inhabitants. The municipalities were concerned with facing the present and preparing for future growth. So they decided to build a sewer transfer collector that would transport the effluents and wastewater to the treatment plant of Cergy-Neuville. One of the main requirements to the construction of the sewer was the ability to withstand pH values below 4. Only HOBAS CC-GRP Pipe Systems were able to satisfy this specification. France together with the main contractor DLE was honored by the ISTT receiving the Project The project was designed, tendered, awarded and initiated in 2003 to be completed at the beginning of 2004. It included the rehabilitation of an existing section of the main sewer and the construction of new sections. The first parts of the new collector were located in the valley whereas the effluents in the last section have to be pumped up onto a plateau.
