Amiblu Hobas GRP pipes helped upgrade the local stormwater drainage system in Vilnius in Lithuania in a highly efficient way.
In the second half of 2024, the implementation of the Stormwater Kalvariju Upes streets jacking project began. The project in Vilnius includes the construction of a stormwater drainage system with storm inlets and a pre-treatment unit for settling tanks and an outlet to the Villi River. Amiblu supplied 1625 m of Hobas jacking pipes in diameters De 1280 and De 1499 for the ambitious project, which will considerably reduce the risk of street flooding in Vilnius.
Thanks to the possibility of carrying out the investment with Amiblu GRP pipes using trenchless technology, life could go on without major traffic disruptions throughout the entire section of the works. Due to the relatively low weight of the GRP pipes, no large and heavy equipment in the form of cranes was required for the installation.
“We chose this partner because of the high quality of service and support in solving all kinds of problems that arise. We have successfully completed several projects with Amiblu, in Vilnius and other cities of Lithuania.”
– Renaldas Kalvynas, Project Director at UAB “KRS”
The construction of a new rainwater collector reduces the risk of flooding the streets with rainwater during increasingly frequent heavy rains and eliminates overloads in the existing combined sewer networks.
