Hydropower GRP Pipes for Growing Wine in New Zealand
Esk Valley is a wine growing area in Hawkes Bay, North Island, New Zealand, a well known region for NZ Sauvignon Blanc and other varieties. The Esk hydro project is notable in that the two small run of river schemes comprising the project include underground and above ground penstocks, up to 300 m head with coupling jointed Flowtite pipe utilised. One section of the project includes a hillside area with ongoing long term, but slow ground movement and the Flowtite pipe in this section utilised additional couplings to account for the design displacement.
