New GRP channel for combined sewage in Wilhelmshaven

In the German town of Wilhelmshaven, a brand-new GRP pipe system for combined wastewater was recently taken into operation. It consists of 300 m pipes DN 700-1000 as well as a variety of manholes.

GRP was chosen as optimal pipe material mainly due to its exceptionally long lifetime, and high abrasion and corrosion resistance. The pipes’ light weight also proved very beneficial given the instable soil conditions (fine sand, silt, and clay). All in all, a really successful project!
