MEP Anna Cavazzini visits our plant in Döbeln, Germany
At the end of January, Anna Cavazzini, member of the European Parliament (Greens), visited our production facility in Döbeln. As Chair of the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection, she places great emphasis on supporting production sites in Europe and ensuring fair competition.
We purchase 3/4 of our raw materials from suppliers within the EU. However, high European standards result in our products being more expensive than products from non-European countries. This distortion of competition could be counteracted by e.g. new regulations for tenders which take into account the length of the supply chain and the carbon footprint. This and other important topics were on the agenda of the factory tour, along with the discussion why GRP pipes are a responsible alternative in terms of production, transport, and installation.
